Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated CNC Programmer to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, testing, and optimizing CNC (Computer Numerical Control) programs that drive precision machining processes. Your expertise will ensure that components are manufactured efficiently, accurately, and to the highest quality standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with advanced machinery and cutting-edge manufacturing techniques, contributing directly to the production of complex parts used across various industries. The ideal candidate is energetic, detail-oriented, and passionate about precision engineering and manufacturing excellence.
Duties
- Develop and write CNC programs for milling machines, lathes, and other CNC equipment using CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software and manual programming techniques.
- Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and technical specifications to ensure accurate machining processes.
- Set up CNC machines, including loading tooling, calibrating equipment, and verifying machine parameters to ensure optimal operation.
- Utilize precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM) to inspect parts for conformance to specifications.
- Troubleshoot machining issues by analyzing tool paths, machine operations, and tooling setups; make necessary adjustments to improve accuracy and efficiency.
- Collaborate with mechanical engineers and production teams to optimize machining processes for plastics injection molding, welding assemblies, or other manufacturing needs.
- Maintain detailed documentation of programs, setups, inspections, and process improvements in compliance with quality standards.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, forklifts, and other equipment safely within a lean manufacturing environment.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in CNC programming for milling machines and CNC lathes using Fanuc or similar control systems.
- Strong knowledge of CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software such as SolidWorks or equivalent for designing parts and fixtures.
- Expertise in GD&T principles for precise measurement and quality control of machined components.
- Mechanical knowledge related to machining operations including tooling selection and setup procedures.
- Familiarity with electrical discharge machining (EDM) processes is a plus.
- Ability to read complex blueprints and technical drawings accurately.
- Basic math skills including geometry and algebra necessary for programming calculations.
- Experience working with precision measuring instruments like calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM).
- Knowledge of plastics injection molding processes is advantageous but not required.
- Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and assembly fixtures safely.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to process improvement in a fast-paced environment. Join us as we push the boundaries of manufacturing technology! Your expertise will help us produce high-quality components efficiently while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation. We value energetic professionals eager to grow their skills in a collaborative setting dedicated to excellence in precision machining.
