CNC Programmer- 1st Shift

Summary/Objectives

Essential Functions

• Develop and edit CNC programs for all the CNC machining centers
• Set up and prove out new programs on the shop floor
• Select appropriate tooling, speeds, and feed for the different materials and machining operations
• Coordinate with Plant Manager, all material requirements and requests in a timely manner.
• Track and plan production schedules, identify and resolve programming issues.
• Actively communicate with other departments including sales, shipping and management current schedules and any capacity constraints.
• Train and assist machine operators
• Maintain a consistent high level of organization around the work area and demonstrate an ability to complete assignments and meet deadlines.
• Assist other departments and divisions of Owen Industries as needed.
• Troubleshoot machining issues and make adjustments as needed
• Analyze current processes and procedures and suggest improvements in an effort to improve processes and minimize costs

• Provide accurate and timely information about work in progress and capacity requirements.
• Support and encourage other team members to ensure a productive team environment.
• Achieve required quality standards.
• Achieve on-time delivery to internal and external customers.
• Represent the company in a professional and courteous manner.
• Ability to communicate with other programmers, shop floor, management, and operators in a positive and productive manner.
• Self-Starter and able to work with minimal supervision.

• Carry out duties in accordance with ISO standards and other company procedures.
• Regular Attendance and Punctuality.
• Follow and comply with all NPS Safety Policy rules and regulations.
• All other duties as assigned.

• Must have computer programming skills at least 3+ years of experience
• Technical degree or trade program coursework preferred.
• Excellent reading comprehension, written and verbal communication skills.
• Mechanical reasoning and logical troubleshooting skills
• Active listening Skills.
• Must have problem solving skills
• Time management, organization, and planning skills.
• Excellent math and measuring skills.
• Knowledge of working in a metal shop environment preferred.
• Must be highly detail oriented.
• Must have ability to read blueprints.
• Knowledge of electronics and machine tools.
• CAD Experience.
