Job Title: CNC Programmer
Reports to: Plant Manager
Hours: 1st Shift M-Th 5:30 am - 4:00 pm (OT available as needed)
Compensation: $27 - $35/HR
The CNC Programmer will be responsible for creating, optimizing, and troubleshooting CNC programs for mills, lathes, and other machining equipment. This position requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate with machinists, managers, sales. and production staff to ensure efficient, high-quality output.
- Develop and edit CNC programs for all the CNC machining centers
- Set up and prove out new programs on the shop floor
- Select appropriate tooling, speeds, and feed for the different materials and machining operations
- Coordinate with Plant Manager, all material requirements and requests in a timely manner.
- Track and plan production schedules, identify and resolve programming issues.
- Actively communicate with other departments including sales, shipping and management current schedules and any capacity constraints.
- Train and assist machine operators
- Maintain a consistent high level of organization around the work area and demonstrate an ability to complete assignments and meet deadlines.
- Assist other departments and divisions of Owen Industries as needed.
- Troubleshoot machining issues and make adjustments as needed
- Analyze current processes and procedures and suggest improvements in an effort to improve processes and minimize costs

Competencies
- Must have computer programming skills at least 3+ years of experience
- Technical degree or trade program coursework preferred.
- Excellent reading comprehension, written and verbal communication skills.
- Mechanical reasoning and logical troubleshooting skills
- Active listening Skills.
- Must have problem solving skills
- Time management, organization, and planning skills.
- Excellent math and measuring skills.
- Knowledge of working in a metal shop environment preferred.
- Must be highly detail oriented.
- Must have ability to read blueprints.
- Knowledge of electronics and machine tools.
- CAD Experience.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day.

Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud at times. Environment is not fully climate controlled.
