CNC Programmer / Operator — Independent Contractor (1099)

Ever machined a part that ended up on a film set? Matthews Studio Equipment designs and builds the grip, lighting, and camera support gear used on some of the biggest productions in the industry.. Our ideas come straight from the working Grips and Gaffers who use them. When they bring us a problem, we build the solution. That's where you come in.

We're looking for a skilled independent contractor to help us program and machine parts for new projects and perform first runs to prove the program. If you're the kind of Machinist who thrives on variety, likes solving new problems, and takes pride in a clean first article, this is a great fit.

What you'll do

• Program the machine to make the part and recommend the best way to cut
• Build tooling around the approved first article
• Program the Haas CNC Mill
• Recommend changes to design to make parts simpler and less costly to produce
• Work across a variety of materials — aluminum, steel, and various plastics

Once the program is proven and tooling is dialed in, our in-house staff take it from there for production runs. Your value is in the thinking, the setup, the proof. We bring you in on an as-needed basis, project by project.

Compensation

Rate is based on your experience and what you require for your services within the parameters of the listed range.

Pay: $35.00 - $40.00 per hour
