Night Shift/ Hours: 3pm till 1:30am. Monday - Thursday with Friday optional overtime if needed
Position Overview: The purpose of this position is to set-up CNC machines and manufacture production and/or prototype devices/articles/customer products using machine tools using industry standard machine tool techniques; ensure Marle’s requirements are met while meeting the requirements of the customer, our quality policy and quality objectives of Marle.
Essential Job Functions:
- Set up and operate CNC machines to perform tasks such as drilling, milling, etc.
- Understand specification of the task at hand and the desired result by reading blueprints, customer specifications, etc.
- Calculate and set controls to regulate machining factors and automated controls.
- Prepare and load raw materials and parts onto the machines.
- Prepare a test run to check if the machines produce outputs according to specifications.
- Supervise the machines while they execute the tasks and make any necessary adjustments to produce a better result.
- Inspect and measure finished products and compare them with requirements to determine if the process has been completed properly.
- Check and maintain machinery daily to ensure proper functionality and coolant levels.
Qualification Requirements:
- Associate’s degree or trade course certificate from a two-year college or technical school
- 3+ years of work experience as a machinist with programming responsibilities
- equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
Skills/Other Abilities:
Math Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, whole numbers and fractions in English and Metric System. Ability to use handheld calculator. Reasoning Skills: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
Physical Skills: Ability to use standard measuring and testing devices such as, but not limited to: calipers, micrometer, height gage, pin gage, radius gage, optical comparator, depth micrometer, etc. Ability to use hand tools such as, but not limited to wrenches, screwdriver, Allen wrench, etc.
Trade Knowledge: Ability to read complicated drawings and specifications. Other Skills & Abilities: Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Mastercam or SolidWorks. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
