As part of our continued growth and expansion into new business areas, we are looking to recruit a skilled and motivated CNC Setter / Operator to join our versatile and forward-thinking team.

This position will play a key role in supporting production activities, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and contributing to lean manufacturing objectives across the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Set and operate CNC machinery to manufacture components to specification and drawing requirements
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications, ensuring components are produced to precise tolerances
• Carry out routine machine maintenance and basic troubleshooting to maintain optimal machine performance
• Assist in the investigation and implementation of process and production improvements
• Support lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives across the department
• Train and mentor team members to encourage continuous development and best practice
• Work collaboratively with Senior Engineers and production teams to achieve production targets and quality objectives
• Maintain high housekeeping standards and ensure compliance with all health & safety procedures
• Work in accordance with the company’s Quality Management System compliant with ISO 9001:2015

Essential Criteria

• Minimum 2 years’ experience setting tooling and jigs across a range of CNC machinery
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and machining procedures
• Good mechanical knowledge with previous experience working within an engineering or manufacturing environment
• Ability to develop and optimise manufacturing processes to improve efficiency and product quality
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work collaboratively across departments
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Strong hands-on mechanical aptitude and practical engineering ability

Desirable Skills & Experience

• Minimum 2 years’ experience programming CNC machines with Fanuc controls for both vertical milling and turning operations
• Experience overseeing production scheduling and process control within a CNC department
• Experience supporting sales teams with cost estimation and technical input for new projects, including customer interaction
• CAD/CAM proficiency, ideally with experience using Creo and/or Fusion 360

Rate depending on skillset and experience. Higher rate candidates will have desirable skills as well as all essential criteria.
