CNC Operator – Hurco Mills / Mazak Turn‑Mill
Job Overview
We are looking for a capable CNC Operator to join our growing precision engineering team. The ideal candidate will have experience with Hurco milling machines and/or Mazak turn‑mill centres, but full training will be provided for the right person.
This role involves machining complex components, inspecting work to engineering drawings, and contributing to a clean, efficient, and quality‑driven workshop.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate CNC mills and lathes to produce precision components.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, tolerances, and work instructions.
- Load and set components into fixtures and workholding systems.
- Inspect parts using gauges, micrometers, verniers, and inspection sheets.
- Assemble components using hand tools where required.
- Perform routine machine and tooling maintenance to ensure consistent performance.
- Work with the team to troubleshoot machining, tooling, or setup issues.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment.
- Monitor production processes and ensure all work meets quality standards.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a CNC Operator, Setter, or similar role.
- Strong mechanical understanding and ability to read technical drawings.
- Familiarity with CNC fixtures, workholding, and machining processes.
- Confident using hand tools and workshop equipment.
- Good attention to detail and ability to identify machining defects.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to maintaining high safety and quality standards.

Pay: £14.00-£18.00 per hour
