About the Role

Gromax Precision is looking for a mechanically strong CNC Setup & Programming Machinist who wants to grow into higher-precision toolroom work, including Wire EDM setup/programming, precision grinding, die components, and toolmaking skills.

Direct Wire EDM experience is helpful, but it is not required for this role. If you have experience with CNC setup, CNC programming, machining, precision manufacturing, or toolroom work, we can train the right person on the specific differences of Wire EDM.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants more than repetitive production machining and is interested in building a high-value skill set in a precision tool and die environment.

At Gromax, you will work on small, precise, challenging parts — not high-volume repetitive production. Our work supports progressive stamping dies, tooling, gages, die repair, and precision components for customers in industries such as aerospace, defense, medical, electrical, and industrial manufacturing.

What You’ll Learn and Do

• Set up, program, and operate CNC equipment based on your current experience level.
• Train on Wire EDM setup, operation, and programming.
• Learn how Wire EDM is used to produce precision die components, punches, inserts, forms, and details.
• Work from prints, CAD files, specifications, and toolroom instructions.
• Support toolmakers, designers, and machinists on die builds, die repairs, revisions, and engineering changes.
• Learn how to produce accurate components to tight tolerances.
• Learn precision grinding skills, including grinding parts flat, square, parallel, and accurate.
• Assist with fixtures, tooling components, punches, inserts, and die details.
• Develop skills that can lead toward toolroom machining, die repair, or tool and die making.
• Help identify improvements in setups, fixturing, methods, and workflow.
• Contribute to a positive, team-oriented work environment.

• CNC mill setup
• CNC lathe setup
• CNC programming

• Surface grinding
• Mechanical repair or high-skill manufacturing
• Inspection, print reading, and tight tolerance work

Direct Wire EDM experience is a plus, but not required.
