Position Summary
Under the direction of the Swiss/Turn-Mill Manager, the CNC Swiss / Turn-Mill Machinist supports the operation and maintenance of the department by producing precision components to meet customer and company standards. The ideal candidate will have experience running and maintaining CNC Swiss-style screw machines and/or Turn-Mill equipment with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate CNC Swiss and/or Turn-Mill machines to produce precision components.
- Make necessary offset adjustments to maintain product specifications.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work orders to determine production requirements.
- Measure and inspect parts using micrometers, calipers, depth gauges, and other precision tools.
- Complete in-process inspections and document results accurately.
- Perform first-piece inspections for new setups and communicate with Quality Control when required.
- Maintain and care for tools, including sharpening and replacing as needed.
- Keep machines and work area clean, organized, and free of debris.
- Follow all safety procedures and report any equipment malfunctions.
- Participate in 6S/Lean initiatives and recommend process improvements.
- Assist in special projects such as validation or Gage R&R studies.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience operating CNC Swiss or Turn-Mill machines (setup experience a plus).
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical specifications.
- Skilled in the use of precision measuring tools (micrometers, comparators, thread plug gauges, etc.).
- Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Experience in medical device manufacturing or ISO 13485/9001 environments preferred.
- Strong attention to detail, quality, and safety.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 - $45.00 per hour
