Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled CNC Turner Setter/Operator to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up and operating CNC turning machines to produce high-precision components. Duties
- Set up CNC turning machines, ensuring correct tooling and parameters are in place for each job - XYZ ProtoTrak and Siemens machines
- Operate CNC lathes to produce components according to technical drawings and specifications
- Perform routine inspections of machined parts to ensure quality standards are met
- Adjust machine settings as necessary to maintain accuracy and efficiency during production runs
- Conduct basic maintenance and troubleshooting on CNC equipment
- Use hand tools and power tools for tooling changes, adjustments, and minor repairs
- Read and interpret CAD drawings, SolidWorks files, and technical documentation
- Assist with other related manufacturing tasks as required
- Maintain a clean and organised work area in compliance with safety regulations
Requirements
- Proven experience operating CNC turning centres or similar machinery
- Strong mechanical knowledge with familiarity in tooling, fixtures, and machine calibration
- Proficiency in reading CAD files, SolidWorks models, and technical drawings
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and other basic workshop equipment effectively
- Good understanding of basic maths for measurements and calculations during setup and production
- Experience working with tooling adjustments and machine calibration to achieve precise tolerances
- Familiarity with assembly processes involving various materials including plastics
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail and safety protocols
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
