We are a small, licensed preschool serving up to 27 children, ages 3–5. Our program focuses on nurturing the whole child through play-based learning, hands-on experiences, and a close-knit community atmosphere.

Our school offers a collaborative, supportive environment where teachers can truly connect with their students and colleagues.

Position Summary

We’re seeking a qualified Co-Lead Preschool Teacher to join our teaching team. You’ll work alongside another lead teacher and a classroom assistant to co-manage our mixed-age group (ages 3–5).

This position is ideal for an educator who enjoys teamwork, values consistency, and loves building relationships with children and their families. You’ll share planning, classroom leadership, and supervision responsibilities with our current lead teacher and the director.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the co-lead teacher to implement an engaging, age-appropriate curriculum
  • Supervise and guide assistant teachers to maintain a safe, nurturing environment
  • Communicate positively with families and colleagues
  • Ensure compliance with Hawaii DHS licensing standards and safety procedures
  • Participate in staff meetings, planning sessions, and special school events

Qualifications:

Education/ Experience: (We are looking for a candidate who meets one of the following options from A, B, C, D, or E)
A. Degree in early childhood or child development from an accredited college or university
B*. Bachelor's Degree (any field) from an accredited college or university with 12 credits in early childhood education or* willing to complete 12 credits in early childhood education (We will assist with finding funding and navigating available programs).
C*. A bachelor's degree (elementary education) from an accredited college or university with six credits in early childhood education or* a willingness to complete six credits in ECED (We will assist with finding funding and navigating available programs).

D. 60 credits in a degree program with a Certificate in Early Childhood
(16 credits) or Willingness to complete 16 Credits

E. CDA (Child Development Associate Credential) with at least one year of supervised teaching experience.

Certificates:

- CPR and first aid certificate or willingness to obtain

- Current Hawaii DHS Early Childhood Registry certificate or willingness to obtain one.
