Co-Op Software
SUMMARY
The R&D Software Engineer Co-op is responsible for coordinating and managing verification tests, experimental design and test reports required for new product development and sustaining engineering activities. This role exposes the Co-op to software design and processes, test equipment and documentation processes in compliance with ISO 13485 and the FDA’s Quality System Regulations for medical devices.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Work alongside R&D team to support design and development of new products:
- Assist with software engineers in establishing verification tests, boundary and integration tests
- Assemble and test prototypes (with support of Software and Systems Engineers)
- Develop test methods to demonstrate designs meet specifications (with support of Systems and Quality Engineers)
- Conduct verification testing according to pre-defined protocols (with support of Systems Engineers and Lab Technician)
- Analyze and present testing data using statistical analysis software in the form of written reports (with support of Quality Engineers)
- Maintain lab equipment, including calibrations and preventative maintenance (with support of Lab Technician)
- Develop specialized test tools (as needed) and document them

Work alongside Quality Engineering team to support Continuous Improvement projects:
- Communicate with3rd Party Testing Resources and Suppliers on failure investigation results and test data
- Conduct failure investigations on product failures and NCMRs
- Provide routine communications and management updates on progress
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Current Engineering Student or 4 Year Engineering Degree
- Ability to lift/carry 40 lbs
- Ability to write python scripts, execute using command shell.
