In House Biller and coding
eClinical Works Billing software expeience
Certified physician billing and coding
Medicare knowledge
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
3 year of health care payment posting and medical billing/collections required
Experience with Medical Billing in a Family Practice & Internal Medicine
Must have ICD-10-CM training
Must know coding for AAPC or AHIMA
Strong critical thinking and analytics skills
Knowledge of medical terminology
Basic diagnosis and procedure coding knowledge.
Post patient payments, payment information, denials, codes and related correspondence; answer patient billing questions
Contact insurance company claims representative to discuss and clear outstanding claims and balances, process insurance denials and appeals
Contact physicians and medical staff to obtain and/or confirm claims information. Correct posting payments and make charge adjustments to patient account
Knowledge of and ability to utilize data collection, data analysis, evaluation, scientific method, and statistics in evaluation of data.

Good written and oral communication skills.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions.
Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills; ability to manage priorities and workflow.
Identify possible collection actions and refer collections issues to the supervisor
