The Coding Instructor will be responsible for teaching coding classes and workshops to children in grades 4th-8th introducing them to fundamental coding concepts and guiding them through hands-on coding projects and activities. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in coding, and the ability to engage and inspire young learners.
Responsibilities:
- Teach coding classes and workshops to children covering topics such as basic programming concepts, algorithms, game development, web development, and more.
- Deliver engaging and interactive lesson plans and activities that cater to the diverse needs and interests of students.
- Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment where students feel encouraged to explore, experiment, and problem-solve.
- Provide individualized support and feedback to students, helping them overcome challenges and achieve their learning goals.
- Foster creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking skills through hands-on coding projects, games, and challenges.
- Stay informed about current trends, tools, and technologies in the field of coding and incorporate relevant content and resources into instructional materials.
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians to provide updates on student progress and to address any questions or concerns.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, education, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Proficiency in coding languages such as Scratch, Python, JavaScript, HTML/CSS, or others commonly used in educational settings.
- Experience working with children in an educational or instructional capacity, preferably in a coding or technology-related field.
- Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire young learners.
- Passion for education and a commitment to empowering children through coding and technology.
- Creativity, adaptability, and a willingness to experiment with different teaching methods and approaches.
