Coffee Shop Associate - Miracle Grounds Coffee Shop & Café
Location/Schedule: Crossnore, NC. Full-time, 40-hour/week position. The Coffee Shop is open Monday – Saturday 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM, and this role requires flexibility in scheduling. Workdays may vary based on operational needs. Occasional evening and weekend hours may be required for special events. Work involves food preparation and working in a kitchen.

As a Coffee Shop Associate, you’ll help create a warm and welcoming space for students, families, staff, volunteers, and community members. This role is about more than making coffee. The Coffee Shop Associate helps provide great customer service, prepares food and drinks, keeps the café clean and organized, and supports a positive environment for everyone who visits Miracle Grounds Coffee Shop & Café.
Hiring Range: $16.40 to 17.25 an hour - Compensation is based on experience and qualifications. Candidates who meet only the minimum requirements can expect to start at the beginning of the range, while those with additional and relevant experience and/or advanced skills may be considered for higher starting pay within the range.

Education/Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous food service, coffee shop, retail, or customer service experience preferred.
  • Experience handling food preparation and cash transactions preferred.

Key Responsibilities:
Customer Service
  • Greet customers and create a friendly environment
  • Take customer orders and answer questions
  • Prepare coffee, drinks, and food items
  • Handle cash and card payments using the register/POS system
  • Help customers in a professional and respectful way
Food Prep & Cleaning
  • Prepare and stock food and drinks
  • Keep kitchen, dining, and outdoor areas clean and organized
  • Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines
  • Help maintain a clean and safe workspace
Team Support
  • Work closely with coworkers, volunteers, and students
  • Help with daily coffee shop tasks and special events
  • Attend trainings and team meetings
  • Support other tasks as needed
