Coil Operator

SUMMARY

Operates coiling machines and furnace as well as packs parts per instructions. The level of employee competency is dependent on whether the employee meets Customer quality expectations and overall company rate of efficiency when running in production.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (include the following)

Other duties may be assigned.

Arranges for retrieval of required material.

Selects production speeds based on required work order run rates.

Verifies wire diameter or section with micrometers or calipers.

Threads wire through drive rollers and machine guides.

Sets coiling tooling to control various ring or wire form dimensions.

Inputs required data into the computer for CNC controlled machines.

Measures sample product for conformance to specifications using gauges, load testers, micrometers and calipers. (First Piece Inspection)

Adjusts the machine to attain specified tolerances.

Grinds arbors and tooling to maintain their dimensions.(eg. Die Sets)

Records all required data relative to the quality of the rings produced. (Process Control Cards)

May recommend document changes to resolve production problems.

Prepares production and quality records as required. (Production Reporting)

Must perform daily maintenance checks as required.

( eg. greasing , hardware & hydraulic checks )

Pay: $21.09 per hour
