Position Overview

I am seeking a Collaborating Psychiatrist to serve as a supervising and consulting physician for my practice. The ideal candidate will value professional collaboration, support the clinical independence of psychiatric nurse practitioners, and be committed to fostering ethical, high-quality care.

This role primarily involves chart review, consultation, and compliance oversight in accordance with state regulations. It is well-suited for a psychiatrist seeking a flexible, low-intensity partnership opportunity.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the collaborating/supervising psychiatrist for a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner.
• Review a percentage of patient charts as required by state law and practice policy.
• Be available for clinical consultation and case discussion (via phone, email, or virtual meeting).
• Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations governing advanced practice nursing.
• Provide mentorship and support as desired in complex clinical cases.

Qualifications

• Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Psychiatrist (MD or DO).
• Active, unrestricted medical license in [South Carolina].
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Experience in outpatient psychiatry preferred (telehealth experience a plus).
• Comfortable working in a consultative capacity with a Nurse Practitioner-led practice.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $400.00 - $600.00 per month
