Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and collaborative Psychiatrist to join our dynamic mental health team. In this role, you will provide a supervising role to the nurse practitioners in this organization ( two nurse practitioners), and prescribing level II controlled substances.

Note: Only one NP is doing level II controlled substance at the moment.

Your expertise will support diverse populations, including children, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics, ensuring personalized treatment that integrates psychotherapy, psychopharmacology, and crisis management. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in outpatient clinics, inpatient settings, and via telehealth platforms, emphasizing patient-centered care and multidisciplinary collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams—including primary care providers—to coordinate holistic patient care.
  • Manage acute crises effectively through crisis intervention strategies and emergency response protocols.
  • Utilize telehealth technology to provide accessible mental health services while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Document all patient interactions accurately in medical records using appropriate medical terminology and ensure compliance with confidentiality standards.

Qualifications

  • Medical degree (MD or DO) with board certification or eligibility in Psychiatry.
  • Post-residency experience in behavioral health or psychiatry practice is preferred.
  • Proven experience working with children and adolescents in outpatient or inpatient settings.
  • Familiarity with outpatient clinics.
  • Strong knowledge of diagnostic evaluation tools and mental health assessment techniques.
  • Expertise in psychopharmacology, crisis management, trauma-informed care (including PTSD), and addiction counseling.
  • Working knowledge of medical documentation standards, medical records management, and medical terminology.
  • Ability to work effectively within HIPAA guidelines to ensure patient privacy and data security.
