<Job Summary>
We are seeking a dedicated and collaborative Psychiatrist to join our dynamic mental health team. In this role, you will provide collaborative services with prescription medication verification as needed. Your expertise will help foster a supportive environment where the nurse practitioner cam achieve optimal mental health outcomes for patients . This position offers an exciting opportunity to work as the nurse practitioner establishes an outpatient clinic that provides in-person appointments and telehealth platforms to ensure accessible and effective mental health services for all ages.
<Responsibilities>
- Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations and diagnostic assessments for children, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics to develop personalized treatment plans.
- Prescribe and monitor psychotropic medications with careful attention to patient safety, medication interactions, and efficacy.
- Deliver evidence-based psychotherapy modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, and behavioral health counseling tailored to individual needs.
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams including psychologists, social workers, nurses, and primary care providers to coordinate holistic patient care.
- Manage crisis situations effectively through crisis intervention strategies and emergency response protocols while ensuring patient safety.
- Utilize telehealth technology to provide remote psychiatric consultations and follow-up care, expanding access for underserved populations.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations, including intake assessments, progress notes, treatment plans, and discharge summaries.
<Requirements>
- Medical degree from an accredited institution with a valid medical license to practice psychiatry in the relevant jurisdiction.
- Post-residency experience in behavioral health settings such as outpatient clinics or inpatient units.
- Proven expertise in pediatric psychiatry and working with children or adolescents with developmental disabilities or PTSD.
- Experience with hospital-based psychiatric care and familiarity with inpatient psychiatric protocols.
- Proficiency in psychopharmacology, diagnostic evaluation, and mental health counseling techniques.
- Strong skills in crisis management, patient assessment, and medical documentation using medical terminology.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations related to patient privacy and data collection standards.
- Telehealth experience is highly desirable to facilitate remote patient engagement effectively.
- Additional skills in addiction counseling, working with geriatric populations, and familiarity with outpatient clinic workflows are advantageous.
