Perform entry level professional duties of moderate difficulty providing the opportunity for professional training in various offices throughout the City. Perform assigned duties to acquire knowledge of methods, procedures and standards required for successful performance. Specific activities vary by department. Work is performed under direct supervision.
This intern position is with Lakeland Electric's Marketing group. Primary location is the Lakeland Electric Administration Building on Lemon Street. Interns can work up to 30 hours per week. This internship begins in November.
- Assist with Lakeland Electric's Community Giving initiatives and events

Organize and manage ongoing photo archive projects, social media projects, and event coordination needs

Provide professional support such as tracking and charting citywide performance measures; develop tracking methods and gather performance data

Perform self-reading as assigned, correcting errors as they are found

Conduct special studies in conjunction with a project, analyze data and make recommendations based upon studies

Able to work nights and weekends

Perform related work as required
Enrollment in or recent graduation from a degree seeking program related to Business, Marketing, Communications, or Public Relations in an accredited college or university

Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license
- Ability to organize and manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously and efficiently

Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective relationships with supervisor, co-workers, other City employees and the general public

Knowledge of or ability to learn Microsoft Office Suites

Experience in Canva, Adobe Pro, or Illustrator are beneficial, but not required

Skill in communicating effectively both verbally and in writing, and to request clarification when needed
WORKING ENVIRONMENT/CONDITIONS:

Requires sedentary work that involves walking or standing some of the time, exerting up to 10 pounds of force on a recurring basis, routine keyboard operations
