We’re looking for warm, responsible, and engaging college sitters and babysitters across NYC who genuinely enjoy working with children and are looking for flexible childcare opportunities that fit around school, internships, and busy schedules.

Karama is a modern childcare platform helping families and caregivers connect in a more personal, intentional, and human way. Unlike traditional childcare platforms, Karama focuses on compatibility, connection, and building meaningful relationships between families and caregivers.

We’re building a community-driven platform for families seeking dependable childcare support and caregivers looking for opportunities that feel more personal and aligned. Whether you’re an experienced babysitter, tutor, camp counselor, older sibling, or simply someone who loves working with kids, we’d love to meet you.

This role is ideal for students and young professionals looking for flexible after-school, evening, and weekend childcare opportunities throughout New York City.

Job Responsibilities

• Provide safe, attentive, and engaging childcare for children of various ages
• Support families with after-school care, playtime, homework help, meals, bedtime routines, and daily activities
• Prepare simple meals and snacks for children and assist with child-related clean up
• Accompany children to activities, classes, playdates, and outings across NYC
• Be comfortable navigating New York City and traveling with children using public transportation when needed
• Create a positive, fun, and nurturing environment where children feel comfortable and supported
• Serve as a positive role model and big brother/big sister figure for children
• Communicate professionally with families regarding schedules, routines, and childcare needs
• Show up reliably, maintain professionalism, and build trust with families over time
• Participate in Karama onboarding sessions and create a caregiver profile on the platform
• Help families feel supported through compassionate, dependable, and thoughtful childcare experiences across NYC

Pay: $25.00 - $40.00 per hour
