Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Color Separator specializing in Screen Printing to join our dynamic creative team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing artwork files and separating colors to ensure vibrant, accurate, and high-quality prints on various substrates. Your expertise will directly contribute to the production of visually compelling apparel, promotional items, and custom merchandise. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work at the intersection of art, technology, and manufacturing, bringing innovative designs to life through precise color separation techniques.

Position Overview

Reports to: Supervisor

Color Separators translate customer artwork Into production-ready color separations that can be accurately

imaged onto screens and printed on press. Their work ensures co1or accuracy, printability, and consistency across all sample and production runs.

Responsibilities

1. Separate artwork for sampling (spot color, simulated process, Index separation).

2. Create print specification documentation for samples, including color callouts, hit order, flashes, meshes, art placement, garment styles and co!ors.

3. Update sample print spedtication documentation and separations when necessary.

4. Check production print specification documentation and separations if/when sample workload allows.

5. [End-of-shift duties - e.g., finalize reports, clean work area, prepare for the next shift.]

Additional Responsibilities

1. Assitance with Neck Hit separations.

2. Perform routine quality mntml checks on completed separations before production release.

3. Collaborate with management on process improvements and wonk.flow optimization iniatives.

4. Assist in training new team members on separation standards and company protocols.

Qualifications & Skills

REQUIRED

1. Minimum 4 years demonstrated separation experience in graphics for apparel.

2. Apparel silk screen-print experience essential.

3. Proficient in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop (CS 6 version or high12r)

4. Working knowledge of MAC or PC system, for work with film RIP and output device.

5. Comfortable with Microsoft Office suite.

6. Must maintain quality of work and productivity while dealing with tight timelines and shifting priorities.

7. Excellent attention to detail and organization skills.

8. Team player willing to teach and willing to learn.

9. Strong communications skills (written and verbal).

10. Able to manage multiple, time-sensitive projects.

11. Positive, team-oriented, 'can-do' attitude in the workplace.

12. Daily time and attendance required.

Preferred

1. Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus (not required)

2. Experience creating artwork for screen printing

Physical Demands

Prolonged periods of computer work requiring sustained visual focus and color discrimination.

Ability to sit for extended periods while reviewing detailed artwork and separations.

Manual dexterity for precise computer naviation and file manipulation.

Visual acuity sufficient for detecting color variations and alignment issues.

Occasional lifting materials up to 25 pounds (samples, equipment).

Ability to move between workstations and departments throughout tile facility.

Work Enviornment

Climate-controlled open office environment specialized computer workstations.

Collaborative open-office setting with regular interaction across multiple departments.

Fast-paced production environment with deadline-driven workflows.

Daily collaboration with Art Department, Print Samples Department. Sample Room, and Costing.

Standard business hours with occasional overtime during peak production periods.

Pay: $25.00 - $38.00 per hour
