About the Role:Salary Range: $74,000-$82,000
This is an opportunity to participate in a specialized role in the Accounting Department out of our main office located in Arvada, Colorado, working on bank and GL reconciliations, invoice processing, monthly postings, insurance, and internal billings, as well as other processes to support the Accounting Department. This opportunity provides technical development and unique experience in construction/real estate accounting. The ideal candidate must be a self-starter who is detail-oriented, analytical, tech-savvy, and a great communicator, preferably with experience in public accounting.
The Staff Accountant supports the company's accounting operations with a strong focus on accuracy, organization, and timely processing. This role works closely with field staff, project teams, and management to ensure all financial data is properly recorded and maintained.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct final review and approval of job site invoices
- Execute field accounting requests as needed
- Work closely with accounts payable to process payments and reimbursements
- Support field staff with accounting and documentation needs
- Work closely with field staff and accounting team to record receipts, billings, and retainage
- Prepare journal entries and job costing with minimal error
- Assist with the month-end close process
- Complete reconciliations of bank statements and general ledger
- Process payroll-related and sales tax tasks
- Provide accounting support for senior accounting staff
Required Qualifications & Desired Skills
- Ability to sit or stand at a desk for the majority of the workday; occasional lifting of 5+ lbs., bending, and reaching
- College degree in accounting and 1–3 years of experience in public or private accounting
- Strong computer proficiency, especially in Excel and Word
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Demonstrated analytical capability and problem-solving skills
- Passion for producing quality work with strong attention to detail and initiative
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills
- Proven organizational skills and the ability to contribute effectively as a motivated team member
- Sage 300 CRE experience preferred
