Colorist

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and creative Colorist to join our team for a vertical series (9:16) project. In this role, you will be responsible for enhancing visual storytelling through expert color grading and correction, ensuring the project achieves its artistic vision while meeting high technical standards for mobile viewing. You will collaborate closely with directors, cinematographers, editors, and the post-production team to deliver stunning, polished visuals that captivate audiences on smartphones and vertical platforms.

Responsibilities

• Apply advanced color grading techniques to enhance the aesthetic quality of visual content, ensuring consistency across scenes and sequences in 9:16 vertical format.
• Develop and maintain the overall color look, tone, and visual style of the project in collaboration with the director and cinematographer.
• Perform primary and secondary color correction, skin tone matching, and creative color styling to support the emotional narrative.
• Work efficiently in DaVinci Resolve (or equivalent) to deliver broadcast-quality color optimized for vertical/mobile-first content.
• Create and manage custom LUTs and color presets for consistent workflow across multiple episodes or segments.
• Participate in multiple rounds of color review and revisions with the creative team.
• Deliver technically compliant final graded masters that meet vertical platform specifications (proper frame rates, bit rate, etc.).
• Provide constructive feedback on lighting and camera footage when needed to improve future shoots.
• Maintain organized project files, version control, and clear documentation throughout the post-production process.

Requirements

• 3+ years of professional color grading experience.
• Expert-level proficiency in DaVinci Resolve (required).
• Strong portfolio showcasing dramatic, narrative, or emotional storytelling through color.
• Deep understanding of color theory, skin tones, contrast, and visual storytelling.
• Experience working in 9:16 vertical workflows is highly preferred. THIS IS BIG PLUS.
• Ability to work quickly and meet tight post-production deadlines. STRICT DEADLINES.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Pay: $500.00 - $1,500.00 per week
