Command Center Operator

RMI International is hiring two (2) full-time COMMAND CENTER OPERATORS to work the following work schedules:

(1). Monday-Friday, 6:00am-2:00pm

(2). Saturday-Wednesday, 2:00pm-10:00pm

PROFESSIONAL SUMMARY

This position will be responsible for working within COMSEC Operations at the clients corporate office in the city of Torrance, CA. A Command Center Operator is responsible for managing the operations and response coordination within command centers, such as those in military, law enforcement, or emergency services. These operators handle communication systems, monitor real-time data, and ensure timely decision-making to address emergencies or critical situations. They play a crucial role in facilitating effective communication between different units and ensuring a swift and organized response.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Monitor and Operate Communication Systems: Oversee communication networks, ensuring they function efficiently and effectively during crises.
  • Real-Time Decision Making: Make critical decisions based on real-time data, coordinating responses to emergencies or operational needs.
  • Coordinate Response Efforts: Act as the central point for relaying information to and from various departments and field units.
  • Supervise Control Center Operations: Ensure all systems and personnel within the control center are operating optimally.
  • Prepare Reports and Documentation: Compile and maintain records of incidents, responses, and resolutions for reporting and future analysis.
  • Ensure Compliance with Protocols: Ensure all operations follow established safety and regulatory standards.
  • Train and Mentor Staff: Train new operators and staff members on operating systems and emergency procedures.
  • Monitor Security Systems: Oversee security operations, ensuring surveillance systems and alarms are functional and providing updates on potential threats.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education: High school diploma or GED; some positions may require a bachelor's degree in a related field such as criminal justice, emergency management, or information technology.
  • Experience: Previous experience in emergency management, law enforcement, or military service is often preferred.
  • Certifications: Certification in emergency management or incident command may be required

  • Technology Proficiency: Familiarity with command and control systems, databases, and other technologies used in emergency response.

  • Leadership and Teamwork: Ability to work well as part of a team and take charge in high-pressure scenarios.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to stand, sit, stop, bend, and walk regularly for 8-12 hours per shift.
  • Must be able to climb up to 3 flights of stairs.
  • Must be able to use body members to work, move, or carry objects or materials.
  • Must be able to exert up to fifty pounds of force occasionally and/or up to twenty pounds frequently.

REPORTS TO

COMSEC Operator will report directly to the COMSEC Supervisor.

SALARY

$23.34 per hour

HOURS OF OPERATION

During designated operating hours, special events, and recognized holidays. Hours of operation will be consistent for service provided at the American Honda Corporate Office.

TRAINING

Aside from RMI-provided orientation and initial training, the Command Center Operator shall participate in a minimum of on-the-job training.
