Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Commercial Assistant Property Manager to join our vibrant property management team. In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting the day-to-day operations of roughly 100+ units of commercial and mixed-use properties, ensuring seamless leasing processes, tenant relations, and administrative functions. Your proactive approach and strong organizational skills will contribute to maintaining high occupancy rates, fostering positive tenant relationships, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations. Responsibilities
- Assist in managing lease agreements, renewals, and rent collections using property management software such as Appfolio
- Support the coordination of property maintenance requests and facilities management to ensure properties are well-maintained and compliant with safety standards.
- Handle tenant inquiries related to rent payments and property issues with professionalism and excellent customer service skills.
- Maintain accurate data entry, filing, and record keeping for legal documents, contracts, and tenant files in accordance with Fair Housing regulations and legal administrative procedures.
- Assist in resolving conflicts or disputes between tenants or landlords by applying conflict management strategies and understanding landlord-tenant law.
- Prepare reports on occupancy rates, lease status, and maintenance activities for property managers.
- Assist with monthly and annual financial reporting and budgeting
- Serve as a point of contact for tenant inquiries and maintenance requests
- Conduct routine property inspections to prevent/identify problems and exposures
- Track and ensure progression of maintenance requests
- Coordinate with vendors and contractors for larger repairs and ongoing projects
- Dissect commercial leases to determine financial obligations between tenants and owners
- Participate in regular team meetings to discuss operational improvements and customer relationship management strategies.
Qualifications/Experience:
· Bachelor's degree (required)
· Able to work independently
· 1-2+ years of experience in property management or the real estate industry
· Proficient in Word, Excel, and Outlook
· Familiarity with property management software (AppFolio is a plus)
· Interest in real estate, development, and operations
· Basic understanding of leases, tenant relations, or maintenance coordination
· Understanding of cash flows and financial statements required
Pay: $58,000.00 - $72,000.00 per year
