Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Commercial Building Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge and expertise in HVAC, plumbing, electrical work, boilers, and other building systems. This individual will be responsible for the efficient operation, maintenance, and repair of all mechanical and electrical systems within our commercial buildings.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain and repair HVAC systems, including troubleshooting and resolving issues related to heating, ventilation, and air conditioning.Perform routine maintenance and inspections of plumbing systems, ensuring proper functionality and addressing any leaks or malfunctions promptly.Conduct electrical repairs and upgrades as needed, including troubleshooting electrical circuits, replacing faulty components, and ensuring compliance with safety standards.Monitor and maintain boiler systems, ensuring proper operation and adherence to regulatory requirements.Coordinate and oversee the work of contractors and external service providers for specialized repairs and installations.Manage preventative maintenance programs to ensure the longevity and efficiency of building systems.Ensure compliance with fire codes, building regulations, and permitting requirements, maintaining accurate records and documentation.Respond promptly to emergency situations, such as power outages, equipment failures, or safety hazards, and implement appropriate corrective actions.Collaborate with property managers, tenants, and other stakeholders to address maintenance issues and ensure a safe and comfortable working environment.Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment, and oversee procurement activities as needed.Demonstrate a strong work ethic, reliability, and professionalism in all aspects of job performance.
Qualifications:Minimum of 3 years of experience in commercial building maintenance, with a focus on HVAC, plumbing, electrical work, and boilers.Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical and electrical systems.Strong understanding of fire codes, building regulations, and permitting processes.Experience in managing a team of technicians and contractors.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.Flexibility to respond to emergency situations outside of regular business hours.Relevant certifications (e.g., HVAC technician certification, electrical license) preferred.High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical training or certification is a plus.If you meet these qualifications and are looking for a challenging and rewarding opportunity, we encourage you to apply for the position of Commercial Building Engineer.
