Overview of the Role

We are looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Commercial Business Analyst to support Axis’s payments business through data-driven insights, commercial analysis, and commercial modeling. This role plays a key part in analyzing product performance, revenue drivers, pricing strategies, and market trends to enhance profitability, customer value, and business growth within Axis’s payment solutions portfolio.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Analyze payment product performance (including transaction volumes, margins, revenues, and merchant activity) and provide actionable insights to management.

• Build and maintain analytical models to evaluate business cases, pricing strategies, and partnership economics.

• Prepare periodic business performance reports and dashboards for management and board presentations.

• Support strategic initiatives such as new product launches, partnerships, or regulatory opportunities through commercial feasibility studies.

• Monitor and interpret market trends, competitor offerings, and regulatory developments in the payments sector.

• Collaborate with Product, Finance, and Data teams to align performance metrics and financial tracking methodologies.

• Identify and recommend opportunities to improve profitability, reduce costs, and optimize fee structures.

• Support budget planning, forecasting, and variance analysis for the Payments department.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (MBA preferred).

• 3–5 years of experience in business or commercial analysis, ideally within fintech, banking, or payments.

• Strong understanding of payment products, transaction flows, and revenue models.

• Proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting, and data visualization tools (Excel, Power BI, SQL).

• Strong business acumen, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate insights to non-technical stakeholders.

• Fluency in English and Arabic.

Nice to Have:

• Experience with CBE reporting, FDI, or financial compliance frameworks.

• Familiarity with merchant acquiring, digital wallets, and instant payments economics.

• Exposure to data analytics and automation tools for business intelligence.
