Duties
- Safely operate Commercial CDL B front load trucks to collect waste from commercial and residential clients. May need to open corral doors to access containers as needed.
- Load and unload waste containers using mechanical arms on front loader trucks with precision and care
- Transport waste to a designated local landfill/disposal areas
- Conduct routine safety inspections of vehicles and equipment before and after shifts to ensure optimal operation
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, route documentation, and service records throughout each shift such as recording mileage, fuel consumption, Vehicle Condition Reports and other forms
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers and report any customer issues/complaints to the appropriate team members to coordinate pickups and address any issues promptly
- Follow all safety procedures, traffic laws, and environmental guidelines during daily operations
- Any additional job duties that may be assigned by the Supervisor
Skills
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class B
- Experience operating front loader trucks, rear loader trucks, or roll-off trucks in a commercial setting
- Strong driving skills with a clean driving record
- Mechanical knowledge to perform basic troubleshooting and routine maintenance
- Ability to lift heavy containers and perform physically demanding tasks safely and efficiently
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating routes, safety protocols, and customer interactions
- Understand refuse collection policies, procedures, guidelines and practices; understanding of DOT and State requirements for operations of commercial motor vehicles
