Commercial Construction Estimator

BKB Enterprises is hiring an experienced Lead Estimator to support commercial construction projects across California and the Western U.S.

This role is responsible for managing the estimating process for restaurant, retail, hospitality, office, and commercial construction projects from initial plan review through final proposal submission. This position works closely with project managers, subcontractors, vendors, and company leadership to develop accurate, competitive, and organized bid packages that support successful project execution.

We are looking for someone who:

• Manages the estimating process from plan review through proposal submission
• Reviews drawings, specifications, and project scope requirements
• Develops subcontractor outreach strategies and coordinates bid coverage
• Performs quantity takeoffs, pricing analysis, and scope reviews
• Identifies scope gaps, potential risks, and value engineering opportunities
• Collaborates with project managers and operations teams during preconstruction
• Communicates professionally with clients, subcontractors, architects, and internal teams
• Maintains organized estimating documentation and bid tracking records

What You’ll Do

• Prepare accurate commercial construction estimates and bid packages
• Perform quantity takeoffs and pricing analysis
• Review plans, specifications, and subcontractor proposals
• Coordinate with project managers, vendors, and subcontractors
• Support budgeting, value engineering, and cost forecasting efforts
• Maintain estimating documentation and bid tracking systems
• Participate in preconstruction meetings and client discussions
• Support multiple bids and project deadlines simultaneously

Job requirements

What We’re Looking For

• 5+ years of commercial construction estimating experience
• Experience with Bluebeam, Procore, Microsoft Project, Construction Connect, or similar software
• Strong understanding of commercial construction methods and materials
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications
• Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills
• Experience managing multiple bids and deadlines
• Leadership experience mentoring or supporting junior estimating staff preferred
