Job Purpose
Reporting to Vice President, Legal, this position will provide legal support to our commercial and industrial business unit. The Commercial Counsel will be responsible for leading and managing all legal aspects of the C&I project finance and development needs and will be expected to act as a strategic partner to the business unit. The Commercial Counsel will review, draft and negotiate various project agreements and documentation associated with the development, financing, construction and operation of distributed solar and storage solutions for C&I behind-the-meter, Muni-CoOp and community solar customers, from the earliest stages through construction and into commercial operation. In such role, the attorney will support multiple departments, including development, construction, operations and finance, by reviewing, drafting and negotiating real estate agreements, interconnection agreements, PPAs and REC agreements, consulting contracts, procurement and construction agreements and O&M and warranty agreements. The attorney will also support the structuring, negotiating and closing of M&A transactions, construction and permanent financing, tax equity investments and other credit facilities. This position will be responsible for foreseeing and protecting the Company against legal risks and is expected to rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Open to candidates throughout California. For candidates in the San Francisco Bay Area, in office expectation is 2-3 days a week.

Salary/Compensation
The salary range is between $185k-195k. In addition to base salary, this role includes a corporate bonus. The position offers health, vision/dental insurance, flexible spending accounts, 401(k) plan, accrued paid time off, life insurance and disability coverage.
