Commercial Director – OEM, Private Label & Modern Trade

Company Description

Tulip Global is seeking a strategic Business Development Lead to pioneer and manage our National Modern Trade and Private Label (OEM) wing. This is a leadership-track role for a high potential professional who will have the autonomy to build and lead their own team. You will have full ownership of the P&L for the Modern Trade segment, responsible for designing the roadmap and scaling the department from the ground up. 


Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site position based in the Lahore District for a Lead of National Business Development (Modern Trade & OEM). The role involves spearheading business development efforts, identifying new opportunities, generating leads, and expanding the company’s presence in modern trade and OEM channels. Key responsibilities include building strong client relationships, negotiating contracts, and meeting sales targets to drive revenue growth. The role will require strategic foresight, collaboration across teams, and a results-oriented approach to secure and grow the company’s market position.


Qualifications

  • Experience: 5 To 7 years of experience in Modern Trade, Key Accounts, or Category Management within a top-tier FMCG or a major Retail Chain.
  • Leadership Potential: Demonstrated ability to manage projects independently and the vision to build a high-performing sales and operations team.
  • Commercial Acumen: Must understand the "Mathematics of Retail" COGS, Net Margins, Listing Fees, and Promotional Spends.
  • Proven Track Record: Experience in launching new categories or managing Private Label portfolios is highly desirable. 
  • Proficiency in Lead Generation and New Business Development
  • Strong skills in Sales and Business Development
  • Expertise in Contract Negotiation
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities for building client relationships
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (Master's degree is a plus)
  • Experience in the beauty and hygiene industry is a significant advantage


Key Responsibilities: Department Leadership: Establish the Modern Trade function as a core business unit. You will be responsible for hiring and mentoring a support team as the portfolio expands.  National Key Account Leadership: End-to-end management of IMTs and LMTs (Metro, Carrefour, Imtiaz, AL Fatah, Rainbow, Chase-up, etc.). You will own the relationship at the Category Manager and Buyer level.  OEM & Private Label Architecture: Identify white-space opportunities within retail chains, develop business cases for contract manufacturing, and lead the technical and commercial pitch to secure OEM deals.  Strategic TOT Negotiations: Lead the annual Terms of Trade (TOT) negotiations, focusing on optimizing margins, reducing listing fees, and securing premium shelf visibility (Planograms).  Cross-Functional Bridge: Act as the strategic link between the Retailer’s requirements and Tulip’s Manufacturing/R&D team to ensure product specs and quality meet international standards.
