Commercial Driver & Warehouse Associate

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Commercial Driver & Warehouse Associate plays a vital role in operations by combining the responsibilities of commercial driving with warehouse duties. This position involves safely operating company vehicles to transport goods to various locations while also performing a variety of tasks within the warehouse, including receiving, storing, picking, and shipping goods. Must be a skilled driver with a valid driver's license and experience in warehouse operations including operating material handling equipment. Requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Safely operate company vehicles, including trucks and vans, to transport goods to locations.
• Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations, including hours of service rules and weight limits.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure safety and compliance with company standards.
• Load and unload cargo using appropriate equipment and securing methods.
• Receive and inspect incoming shipments of goods, verifying accuracy and condition.
• Store incoming inventory in designated locations within the warehouse.
• Pick orders accurately and efficiently using pick lists or handheld scanners.
• Pack orders securely and prepare them for shipping, ensuring proper labeling and documentation.
• Assist with inventory counts and cycle counts to ensure accuracy and proper stock levels.
• Operate warehouse equipment, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks, safely and efficiently.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of fleet and warehouse areas, aisles, and workspaces.
• Communicate effectively with management, donors, volunteers, and other team members to coordinate delivery schedules and warehouse activities.
• Follow all safety protocols and company policies to prevent accidents and injuries.
• Assist with other duties in the warehouse or transportation department as needed.

Job Requirements

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

• Valid license with a clean driving record.
• Valid Medical Certificate.
• 3 or more years experience as a commercial driver and/or warehouse worker preferred.
• Ability to lift and move heavy objects, often up to 75 pounds or more.
• Familiarity with warehouse operations and procedures.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
• Basic math skills for counting and recording inventory.
• Flexibility to work varied hours, including evenings and weekends.
• Ability to operate warehouse equipment safely and effectively.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Willingness to follow instructions and learn new tasks as needed.
• Ability to travel and/or drive for missions.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Hours of Operation: Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., with additional hours during disaster response and/or mission activations including possible overnight stays and multiple days/nights.
• Environment: Warehouse, working and/or driving in inclement weather and normal driving; moderate to loud noise levels.
• Travel: Disaster response and/or mission response will be required.
• Lifting requirements up to 75 pounds; loads heavier than 75 pounds require two or more individuals for lifting.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.50 - $23.00 per hour
