CDL A Local Truck Driver – Home Daily

Pay: $27 – $30 per hour (depending on experience and background)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Work Area: Chicagoland region, plus occasional runs within 120 miles into Indiana, Michigan, and Wisconsin. Home daily.

About the Role

KGZ Transport is looking for a dependable, safety-minded CDL A driver to run local and short regional routes. You will operate primarily within a 120-mile radius of Chicago, IL, serving nearby locations in Indiana, Michigan, and Wisconsin. Most routes are preplanned by dispatch, and you will be home after every shift.

Equipment We Use: Dry vans, Flatbeds, and Conestoga trailers

What You Will Do

- Safely operate CDL A vehicles including dry vans, flatbeds, and conestoga trailers
- Follow preplanned daily routes from dispatch
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections
- Load, unload, and secure freight using proper procedures (forklift operation may be required)
- Complete delivery paperwork, logs, and inspection reports accurately
- Communicate clearly with dispatch, customers, and warehouse teams
- Comply with all DOT regulations and company safety policies

What You Need

- Valid Class A CDL
- Current DOT medical card
- Clean driving record (MVR)
- Previous commercial driving experience preferred; local route experience a plus
- Experience with dry vans, flatbeds, or conestoga trailers preferred
- Ability to operate a manual transmission (preferred but not required)
- Dependable, punctual, professional attitude
- Ability to lift, bend, climb, and secure freight as needed
- Comfort working in various weather conditions
