Duties
- Safely operate commercial trucks with manual transmissions, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Load and unload freight using forklifts or manual methods, ensuring proper handling of various cargo types such as refrigerated goods, flatbed loads, tankers, or freight requiring special equipment.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to verify truck condition, including brakes, lights, tires, and load securement.
- Plan efficient routes for timely deliveries across multiple locations while managing delivery schedules proactively.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, deliveries, and vehicle maintenance records in compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to coordinate pickups and drop-offs, providing excellent customer service.
- Assist with the maintenance of trucks and trailers to ensure optimal performance and safety standards are met.
Experience
- Valid CDL A license with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience operating tractor-trailers or similar heavy-duty trucks in a commercial setting.
- Hands-on experience with manual transmission trucks preferred.
- Familiarity with various types of freight including refrigerated goods, flatbed loads, tankers, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks.
- Delivery driver experience involving load & unload procedures and route driving across urban or rural areas.
- Ability to operate auxiliary equipment such as forklifts when necessary for cargo handling.

Pay: $60.00 - $62.00 per mile
