Job Summary:
The Truck Driver will work alongside other key members of the Logistics department to drive a heavy duty or light duty truck, primarily to deliver/pick-up shipments or to deliver loads within a specified area. May load and unload truck.
The Truck Driver may also assist in loading/unloading truck and assist the Logistics team as necessary to service the customer and operations timely and effectively.
Duties, Functions and Responsibilities:

Obey traffic laws and follow established traffic and transportation procedures.
Inspect and maintain vehicle supplies and equipment, such as gas, oil, water, tires, lights, and brakes, to ensure that vehicles are in proper working condition.
Properly complete inspection checklist and report any mechanical problems encountered with the vehicle/trailer.
Present bills and receipts and collect payments for goods delivered or loaded, if applicable.
Load and unload shipments.
Shuttle product between buildings.
Verify the contents of inventory loads against shipping papers, if applicable
Turn-in receipts and money received from deliveries.
Maintain records such as vehicle logs, records of cargo, or billing statements in accordance with regulations.
Read GPS, maps and follow written or verbal geographic directions.
Must estimate the weight of the cargo as to not overload the truck.
Report delays, accidents, or other traffic and transportation situations to bases or other vehicles, using telephones or mobile two-way radios.
Understand truck schedules and paperwork requirements
Assist in Intracompany, hazardous waste, or glass shipments
Must ensure the truck is properly loaded and the cargo is secured.
Must stop at weigh scales and pay tolls as required
Help assure that all of the transportation done by ERI is compliant with DOT and other government regulations.
Plan work assignments in order to meet transportation, operations, or production goals.
Discuss with customers, contractors, operations, and sales team to exchange information and to resolve problems.
Help establish and maintain relationships with clients and vendors.
Report any ideas for efficiency and continuous improvement to Supervisors.
Adhere to all safety and compliance regulations and standards.
Pay: $27.00 - $30.00 per hour
