Responsibilities

• Safely operate commercial trucks with manual transmission across designated routes, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
• Load and unload freight using appropriate equipment such as forklifts when necessary, ensuring cargo integrity and security.
• Manage the transportation of various types of freight including refrigerated goods, flatbed loads, tankers, and roll-off containers.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to verify vehicle condition, including brakes, lights, tires, and load securement.
• Plan efficient routes for timely deliveries while adjusting for traffic or weather conditions to optimize performance.
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage logs, fuel consumption, and inspection reports in compliance with company policies.
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients to coordinate pickups and deliveries while providing exceptional customer service.

Qualifications

• Valid CDL Class A license with a clean driving record.
• Proven experience in commercial driving, including route driving and delivery operations.
• Proficiency in operating manual transmission trucks and familiarity with various truck types such as flatbeds, refrigerated trailers, tankers, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks.
• Experience with freight handling and load & unload procedures using forklifts or other equipment when necessary.
• Knowledge of safety regulations related to trucking operations and cargo securement standards.
• Ability to perform detailed vehicle inspections and maintain accurate documentation throughout shifts.
