Commercial Driver's License A Truck Driver

Phoenix Truss is looking for an experienced Class A CDL semi-truck driver.

This is a full-time position of 5 days of work per week, with occasional Saturdays during busy season. Employees receive 1 week of paid vacation and paid holidays after 90 days of service. Overtime pay is applicable after 8 hours of work per day. The typical workday lasts between 10 to 11 hours, and drivers return home each night.

Requirements:

• A valid Class A CDL.
• Proven work experience as a semi-truck and trailer operator.
• Must be DOT-qualified and able to pass a DOT physical examination.
• At least 6 months of experience with tractor-trailer.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• No recent moving or driving infractions.
• Ability to adapt to unexpected circumstances (such as traffic, weather, and job site conditions).
• Understanding of relevant truck driving laws and regulations.
• Experience with heavy equipment is a plus.

Responsibilities:

• Transporting trusses of various dimensions, including oversized loads, to job sites in a timely manner.
• Adhere to truck driving laws and regulations, along with company policies and procedures.
• Navigate trucks to and into designated job site locations.
• Confirm delivery instructions.
• Report any defects, accidents, or violations encountered.
• Complete a required daily logbook.
• Operate a Semi Tractor and Trailer within the Tri-State area.

Summary:

As an operator of a semi-truck and trailer, the driver is responsible for transporting a range of spans and widths of trusses for agricultural, commercial, and residential projects. You may engage with customers two to four times daily. Occasionally, you might load or assist in loading your trailer. Your usual workday begins between 6-7 AM, during which you will make a total of 2 to 4 stops throughout the day to load and unload. The standard work schedule consists of 5 days per week, with occasional Saturdays during peak season.
