Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Commercial Driver's License (CDL) A Truck Driver to join our dynamic transportation team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating tractor-trailers and other heavy-duty trucks to transport freight efficiently and securely across various routes. Your expertise in driving different types of trucks, including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and dump trucks, will ensure timely deliveries while maintaining the highest safety standards. Responsibilities
- Safely operate tractor-trailers with manual transmission across designated routes, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Load and unload freight using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or roll-off trucks, ensuring cargo integrity and safety.
- Transport a variety of freight types, including refrigerated goods, flatbed loads, tankers, and other specialized cargo.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to identify maintenance needs or safety issues.
- Manage route driving efficiently by planning optimal paths to meet delivery schedules while minimizing delays.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery records, and inspection reports in compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to coordinate pickups, deliveries, and any unforeseen issues during transit.
Requirements
- Valid CDL A license with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience in commercial driving, including delivery driver experience with various truck types such as flatbeds, tankers, or refrigerated trailers.
- Proficiency in operating manual transmission trucks.
- Ability to load & unload freight using forklifts or other equipment safely and efficiently.
- Knowledge of safety procedures related to truck driving, cargo securement, and vehicle maintenance.
- Experience handling different types of trucks such as dump trucks or roll-off trucks is a plus.
