Responsibilities

• Safely operate tractor-trailers with manual transmissions across designated routes, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
• Load and unload freight using appropriate equipment such as forklifts when necessary, ensuring cargo integrity and security.
• Drive various types of trailers including refrigerated units, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks to meet delivery schedules.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to identify maintenance needs or safety issues before and after trips.
• Manage route driving efficiently, optimizing delivery times while maintaining safety standards.
• Ensure accurate documentation of deliveries, pickups, and vehicle logs in compliance with company policies.
• Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding route updates, delivery statuses, or any incidents encountered during trips.

Qualifications

• Valid CDL A license with a clean driving record; experience with manual transmission vehicles preferred.
• Proven truck driving experience with a focus on freight delivery; familiarity with refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, or specialized trucks is a plus.
• Ability to load & unload cargo safely using forklift or other equipment when required.
• Experience operating different types of commercial vehicles such as dump trucks or roll-off trucks is advantageous.
• Strong understanding of safety protocols related to commercial driving and cargo handling.
• Excellent route planning skills with the ability to adapt to changing conditions on the road.
