Overview
Join our dynamic team as a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) A Truck Driver and take charge of delivering freight across diverse routes with energy and precision. Your expertise in manual transmission driving and freight handling will ensure timely deliveries while maintaining the highest safety standards. Will be operating hopper bottom trailers that all have automatic tarps. No hand cranking. All newer trailers. Basically will be going to a dedicated route every day. No weekend work and home daily. Short runs so no ELD logs.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate CDL A tractor-trailers and specialized trucks such as refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks across assigned routes.
- Load and unload freight efficiently using appropriate equipment such as forklifts when necessary.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety, including checking brakes, tires, lights, and load securement.
- Drive in compliance with all traffic laws and company safety policies while maintaining an energetic approach to route driving.
- Deliver freight accurately to designated locations while managing multiple stops on scheduled routes.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers regarding delivery schedules, route adjustments, or any issues encountered during trips.
- Maintain detailed logs of driving hours, mileage, cargo details, and inspection reports to ensure compliance with regulations.
Requirements
- Valid CDL A license with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience in commercial driving, including delivery driver experience with various types of freight.
- Proficiency in operating manual transmission trucks and handling different trailer types such as refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks.
- Ability to load & unload freight safely using forklift or other equipment when required.
- Knowledge of route planning and navigation skills for efficient delivery scheduling.
- Strong understanding of safety regulations related to trucking operations and cargo securement standards.
