Job Summary
Melrose Assisted Living is seeking a motivated and safety-conscious Commercial Driver's License(Passenger endorsement) Shuttle Driver to join our dynamic transportation team. In this role, you will operate a commercial vehicle to shuttle passengers efficiently between designated locations, ensuring timely and secure transportation services. In this role, you will be responsible for carrying out transportation programs according to the recreation calendar, medical appointments, and the directions of the Activities Director. Maintains positive professional relations with employees, residents and family members.
Responsibilities…
- Ensure transportation occurs timely and as schedule per the calendar, and appointment as directed by the Activities Director.
- Utilize an energetic approach when communicating with residents.
- Ensure resident transportation schedule is carried out routinely and effectively.
Required…
- At least one year of hospitality or senior living experience or equivalent experience and education.
- Knowledge of local community resources, vendors, and potential coverage for specific areas of cultural guild.
- Exhibits an energetic demeanor with a caring, compassionate attitude.
- Ability to direct, supervise and coordinate the work of others and motivate for positive performance.
- Possesses sound organizational and time management skills.
- Possesses good judgment, problem solving and decision-making skills.
- Professional appearance and attitude.
- All general staffing requirements:
- HHA or PCT certification is recommended
- Able to physically/mentally perform tasks
- Criminal record clearance and no points on records
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
- General understanding of the needs of the seniors
- Willingness to learn
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to sit/ stand for long periods of time. Must be able to bend and lift up to 50 pounds.
Duties
- Safely operate shuttle vehicles.
- Load and unload cargo or passengers efficiently while ensuring proper handling and securing of passengers.
- Conduct pre-trip inspections of the vehicle to check for mechanical issues, fluid levels, tire condition, and safety features before each shift
- Maintain accurate logs of trips, mileage, fuel consumption, and delivery or pick-up details in compliance with company policies.
- Communicate effectively with Nursing personnel, to coordinate routes, schedules, and any operational updates
