The Foreman oversees the on-site installation and maintenance of electrical systems on construction projects. This leadership role is responsible for supervising electricians, coordinating with project management, ensuring work is completed safely, on time, and in accordance with electrical codes, drawings, and specifications.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Depending upon assignment, duties may include but are not limited to the following:
· Supervise and direct daily activities of electrical crews
· Plan and schedule tasks, materials, tools, and manpower to meet project deadlines
· Ensure all electrical work complies with NEC, local electrical codes, OSHA safety regulations, and company safety policies.
· Coordinate with general contractors, other trades, inspectors, superintendents, and project managers to ensure smooth workflow and resolve issues
· Conduct job site inspections to verify quality, productivity, and adherence to plans and codes.
· Interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and job specifications to ensure correct installation and code compliance.
· Maintain accurate project documentation, including daily logs, timesheets, material usage, and change orders.
· Identify and communicate potential delays, risks, and cost impacts to superintendents and project management.
· Train and mentor apprentices and journeyman electricians.
· Manage and track tools, equipment, and materials on-site
· Maintain accurate records and reports on completed assignments
· Establish and maintain cooperative work relationships
· Management of teams for large and small projects
· Perform any other related duties as assigned
· Approve daily timesheets
Requirements and Qualifications:
· High School Diploma or GED Certificate
· Valid Driver’s License
· Valid Utah Journeyman License
· Able to diagnose problems using electronic test equipment
· Completion of 10-hour OSHA training upon hire
· Demonstrate knowledge of methods, materials, tools, safety practices and equipment in the electrical trade
· Strong troubleshooting abilities
· Good time management and strong work ethic
· Problem solving and critical thinking
· Communicates effectively orally, in writing, and electronically
· Leadership experience in a supervisory or foreman role
· Extensive experience as a Commercial Journeyman Electrician
· Proficient in using basic computer tools for reporting and communication.
· Familiarity with Procore
· Must be able to pass a full background check and drug test.
· Completion of LWE sponsored Foreman training programs
Working Conditions:
· Indoor and outdoor construction sites. Outdoor sites often exposed to weather conditions
· Hazardous conditions
Physical Abilities:
· Hearing and speaking to effectively exchange information
· Sit, stand, and walk for extended time periods
· Lift moderate to heavy objects (50lbs)
· Ability to remain on feet all day
· Ability to work at heights on scissor lifts
Compensation
· Hourly wage rate – DOE
· Discretionary quarterly bonus
Schedule:
· Full Time – Monday through Thursday 6:00 am to 4:30 pm
· Must be able to work occasional overtime
