We are seeking a skilled and reliable Commercial Gas Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and repairing gas systems in Commercial properties. This role requires a strong technical background, practical skills, and the ability to work safely and efficiently. The Gas Engineer will play a vital part in ensuring the safety and functionality of gas related systems, adhering to all relevant health and safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing and repair of commercial gas appliances and heating systems
• Diagnose and fault find on commercial boilers, burners, plant room equipment, and associated controls
• Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) in accordance with client contracts and manufacturer recommendations
• Conduct gas safety inspections, testing, and commissioning works to current industry standards and regulations
• Complete tightness testing, purging, and gas pipework installations in commercial environments
• Work on a range of commercial heating systems including boilers, forced draft burners, water heaters, radiant tube heaters and warm air units.
• Ensure all work complies with current Gas Safe regulations, IGEM standards, and health & safety requirements
• Complete service reports, commissioning sheets, and certification accurately and promptly
• Liaise professionally with clients and office teams
• Respond to reactive breakdowns and emergency callouts when required
• Work independently or as part of a team across commercial and industrial sites
• Ensure high standards of workmanship and customer service at all times
• Support apprentices and junior engineers where required
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of commercial gas legislation, products, and industry best practices

Skills

• Proven experience working as a Commercial Gas Engineer within commercial and industrial environments
• Full UK Driving Licence
• Good organisational skills with attention to detail
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Excellent problem solving skills with a focus on safety compliance
• Qualified with the following Gas certifications:
• CCN1 – Core Domestic Gas Safety
• CPA1 – Combustion Performance Analysis
• CENWAT – Central Heating Boilers and Water Heaters
• CODNCO1 – Changeover Domestic – Commercial NG
• CIGA1 – Indirect Fired Commercial Appliances
• ICPN1 – Installation of Commercial Pipework
• CORT1 - Radiant Tube and Plaque Heaters
• BMP1 - Gas Boosters
• TPCP1A – Testing and Purging of Pipework to 1m³
• TPCP1 - Testing and Purging of Pipework above 1m³
