Commercial HVAC Project & Service Technician

Description

The HVAC Company is seeking an experienced Commercial HVAC Installer Technician to join our team. In this position, you will be responsible for installation, start-up and repairs of commercial HVAC equipment and ancillary systems. Additional duties include repairing or replacing defective components, performing inspections to ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations, providing excellent customer service by addressing client concerns and answering questions, and maintaining accurate records of work performed and materials used.

Summary of Duties and Equipment

  • Proficiency and/or familiarity in installation, troubleshooting, repairing, of commercial HVAC systems to include some or all:

Hydronics– Water- and Air-Cooled Chillers, Domestic and Heating Water Boilers, Cooling Towers, Pumps, and ancillary components such as expansion tanks, valves and piping systems

Airside – Fan Coil Units, Air Handling Units, Variable Air Volume systems and Exhaust Fans, MAUs and DOAs

DX Commercial systems – Package units, Roof Top Units, Split systems, CRAC units, Water Source Heat Pumps, Ductless Split and VRF systems – Multi-Zone

Electrical Systems – Variable Frequency Drives, Motors, Motor Control Panels, and Electrical Distribution Components.

  • Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Utilize a company Service Software to complete the required documentation of all work in a timely and accurate manner.

· Use and maintain special HVAC-specific tools and equipment.

  • Observes and complies with all company safety policies, using required personal protective equipment.
  • Knowledge of HVAC building automation and energy management systems.
  • Strong communication skills to interact with clients and building occupants to provide excellent customer service and address customer concerns effectively.
  • Experience with rigging and crane operations – Lifting and setting HVAC equipment.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy equipment and work in confined spaces and at heights.

Minimum Requirements

· Must have Universal EPA 608 certification for processing and handling.

· Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant HVAC experience.

· High School Diploma or GED

· Commitment to ongoing training and professional development in HVAC technologies and best practices.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $34.00 - $42.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
