Commercial HVAC Service Helper

Job Overview

As a Commercial HVAC Service Technician Helper, you will work under the direct supervision of licensed HVAC service technicians to support the maintenance, repair, and servicing of commercial heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. Key Responsibilities

• Assist technicians with the diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of commercial HVAC equipment, including rooftop units, chillers, air handlers, ductwork, and associated controls.
• Transport, set up, and organize tools, equipment, parts, and materials at job sites.
• Perform basic preventive maintenance tasks, such as replacing air filters, cleaning coils and condensers, lubricating moving parts, and inspecting system components.
• Help with the assembly, installation, and removal of HVAC components, including ductwork, piping, wiring, and refrigerant lines (under supervision).
• Clean and maintain work areas, job sites, company vehicles, and tools to ensure a safe and organized environment.
• Assist in troubleshooting basic HVAC system issues and report observations to senior technicians.
• Follow all safety protocols, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), ladder safety, and confined space procedures.
• Pick up and deliver parts, tools, and supplies as directed.
• Learn commercial HVAC systems, industry standards, and local codes while gaining hands-on experience toward future technician certification.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years experience in Residential Service Technician or related experience
• Formal training or graduation from accredited HVAC vocational/technical program
• Familiarity and experience with general HVAC terminology, tools, equipment, and safety procedures

This role is physically demanding and involves working in various environments, including rooftops, mechanical rooms, and outdoor settings.

Pay: $24.00 - $36.00 per hour
