Duties
- Diagnose and troubleshoot commercial refrigeration systems, using schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters.
- Perform scheduled maintenance, repairs, and installations on refrigeration systems, and related mechanical equipment to ensure optimal operation.
- Read and interpret schematics, electrical diagrams, and HVAC design plans to accurately identify issues and implement effective solutions.
- Conduct field service visits to client sites for appliance repair, property maintenance, air conditioning systems, and equipment upgrades.
- Utilize welding tools and techniques for repairs involving metal components; operate forklifts or other material handling equipment as needed for parts or equipment movement.
- Maintain detailed service records, work orders, and reports to document repairs performed and parts used; communicate effectively with clients regarding system status and recommendations.
- Adhere to safety protocols related to refrigerant handling, electrical systems, welding operations, and general maintenance procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in refrigeration systems.
- Proven field service experience working on commercial or industrial equipment; capable of troubleshooting complex systems efficiently.
- Ability to read schematics, electrical diagrams, and HVAC plans accurately; familiar with technical manuals.
- Skilled in using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters; proficient in welding techniques for metal repairs.
- Excellent problem-solving skills combined with a proactive attitude toward maintenance and repairs.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; ability to operate forklifts or similar equipment safely.
