Commercial Insurance Account Manager

Powell & Associates is seeking a Property & Casualty Commercial Lines Account Manager to help manage our growing book of commercial business. The position is responsible for supporting the producer and serving as the placement liaison for new and existing business.

The ideal candidate can navigate a fast-paced environment independently and never wants two days to look the same. We are looking for a driven and detail-oriented individual to support our team and help fuel our continuous growth.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Help facilitate the management of commercial lines insurance business between clients and carriers for new business, mid-term changes, and renewals.
  • Maintain existing clients and identity opportunities for new business
  • Negotiating and selling the opportunity to carrier partners, quoting online via carrier rating tools or submitting directly to wholesale partners
  • Set priorities and manage workflows within the renewal pipeline with strong organizational skills to ensure efficient, timely, and accurate work against expiration dates
  • Completion of marketing summary outlining terms, rates, bind order documents, and carrier responses
  • Binding coverage with underwriters and finalizing the marketing process including reviewing insurance documents for accuracy

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • A minimum of two years of experience in the insurance industry or related field
  • Self-starter, that is solutions-oriented with the ability to navigate a workflow across multiple carriers and books of business simultaneously while managing deadlines
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Maintain a professional and personable relationship with colleagues and customers both internally and externally

What Would Set You Apart:

  • Property & Casualty Insurance License
  • 2+ years in the commercial insurance field within an independent agency or brokerage
  • Experience using Applied Epic agency management system (or similar)
  • Preexisting relationships with underwriters, brokers, etc.
  • Understanding of the current local/regional insurance landscape including: market trends, pricing practices, and underwriting availability

Pay: $50,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year

Experience:

  • Customer service: 2 years (Preferred)
  • Insurance sales: 2 years (Preferred)

License/Certification:

  • Property & Casualty License (Preferred)
