Commercial Interior Designer

Overview

Canter and Associates is seeking a full-time Designer for our Denver Design Center to collaborate with the Sales team to recommend design solutions, space planning and product options, provide value engineering when required, and evaluate orders and proposals to determine accuracy of product specifications to ensure minimal punch post-installation. The responsibilities of this position will include design and detailed specifications including but not limited to the following; coordinating all phases of the design process with the sales rep and customer, developing product suggestions alongside sales rep to ensure client's vision and/or budget can be met, developing space plans to align with proper code compliance for functionality, obtaining knowledge of product and electrical requirements as needed (this may require communication between the client, A+D firm and the electrical engineer), producing final approval documentation in the form of drawings, specification documents and any necessary installation documents that will assist our partners in a successful install. All of the above may require presentations between Designer and client or involved parties at any given time. We are looking for individuals who are self-motivated, creative and forward thinking, detail-oriented, ready to be challenged, organized, are not afraid to ask for assistance when needed and passionate about his or her work. The successful candidate will work effectively in a team environment while also working autonomously on given tasks. Candidates must also possess the following:

Responsibilities

  • Bachelor’s degree (B. A. or B. S.) from CIDA accredited four-year institution in Interior Design/ Architecture
  • Minimum 1-2 years experience in Design, Drafting, or Architecture sector
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to handle a high volume of detailed designs, paperwork, and tasks with speed and accuracy
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, visualization programs such as CET
  • Previous commercial furniture experience strongly desired but not required

Pay: $50,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
