Commercial Junior Interior Designer

Job Summary:

The Junior Interior Designer is a highly organized and detail-oriented member of a Design team. The Junior Designer executes tasks assigned by an interior Designer or Sr Designer to help them get their projects completed in a most organized, efficient and timely manner. The Junior Designer is also responsible for making sure that the proper tools are available and in use by the team and that schedules are being set and adhered to. The position requires an individual with excellent communication and customer service skills and the ability to multitask.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible to enter all required project data, upload all design selection documentation, keep statuses up to date and store all project artifacts in CMR’s project management system.
  • Ensure the use of SmartSheets dashboards and that all data and specs for the team's projects are kept up to date.
  • Collaborate with the design team to create and develop design concepts for interior and exterior spaces, including selecting color palettes, materials, and furnishings
  • Actively participate in project meetings, taking notes and communicating with clients on follow up actions as needed
  • Completion of tasks within the timeline and budget as provided by their senior team members
  • Create all visual material for client meetings and presentations.
  • Coordinate the creation of CAD drawings, 3D models and renderings to visualize design concepts
  • Conduct research on materials, products, and design trends to ensure that design solutions are innovative and current
  • Assist seniors on job site walkthroughs following up with any relevant parties on all necessary items
  • Assist with project management tasks, including scheduling, budgeting, and coordinating with contractors and vendors
  • Schedule meetings, book meeting rooms, and ensure all necessary materials are properly prepared.
  • Maintain design team samples and ensure a clean and organized workspace and library.
  • Provide administrative support to the design team as needed.
  • Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to obtain quotes, track orders, and manage deliveries. Other responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years of experience in an interior design firm
  • Completion of a certified design course or Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe creative suite and Microsoft Office
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Great written and verbal communication and collaboration skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Physical ability to carry samples to clients and back to CMR offices
  • Ability to interact with customers, vendors, and colleagues in a professional manner
  • Knowledge of basic building codes, regulations, and industry standards
  • A positive friendly attitude and willingness to learn

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $35.00 per hour

Benefits:

  • Paid time off

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday
