Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dependable Landscape Foreman to lead field operations for our growing commercial property maintenance company. In this leadership role, you will be responsible for managing daily crew performance, ensuring quality standards are met on every property, and serving as the primary point of contact between the office and the field. Your ability to lead by example, solve problems on the fly, and hold your team accountable will directly impact client satisfaction and company reputation. This position is built for someone who takes ownership of their work and the work of those around them.
Duties
- Lead a crew of 2-4 landscape technicians across multiple commercial properties, managing daily schedules, task assignments, and job quality.
- Perform and oversee routine landscape maintenance including mowing, trimming, edging, blowing, and debris removal to ensure properties meet company standards.
- Operate and maintain commercial landscaping equipment including zero-turn mowers, trimmers, blowers, and hand tools, and ensure crew members do the same safely and efficiently.
- Oversee seasonal services including spring and fall cleanups, mulching, pruning, and bed maintenance, ensuring work is completed on time and to specification.
- Coordinate snow and ice management operations during winter months, directing crew assignments and equipment use as conditions require.
- Conduct pre-shift equipment inspections, identify maintenance or safety issues, and communicate them to management before they cause downtime.
- Maintain accurate job documentation in Jobber including labor hours, materials used, job notes, and site photos for every property serviced.
- Communicate professionally with clients on-site when needed, representing the company with a high standard of professionalism and responsiveness.
- Enforce company safety procedures, site-specific instructions, and quality standards across the crew at all times.
- Report daily progress, crew performance issues, and any job complications to management in a timely manner.
Qualifications
- 2 or more years of experience in commercial landscaping, grounds maintenance, or a related field is required.
- Proven ability to lead a crew and manage job flow across multiple properties in a single day.
- Skilled in the safe operation of commercial landscaping equipment including zero-turn mowers, trimmers, edgers, blowers, and associated hand tools.
- Strong attention to detail with a track record of producing clean, professional results and holding others to the same standard.
- Ability to read and follow job specifications and site plans, and communicate expectations clearly to crew members.
- Comfortable using field management software (Jobber experience preferred) for tracking labor, materials, and job documentation.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and the ability to operate a truck and trailer is required.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to perform physical labor in varying weather conditions throughout the season.
- Strong communication skills in English to coordinate with crew, management, and clients effectively.
- Mechanical aptitude and basic equipment troubleshooting skills are a plus.
